Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Rebekah Christi

Last Tuesday, June 21st, Aaron's brother Ryan and his beautiful bride Cory welcomed a new addition to their family...Rebekah Christi. This past weekend we were able to enjoy a day with the new family of four. It was a great day filled with lots of excitement. We soaked up every minute we could with them.

We took a walk with everyone to a neighborhood root beer shop.

We were there for Rebekah's first bath.

Rebekah is so precious.

 She has great parents...

and a sister that adores her.

They're a pretty cute family...if I don't say so myself.

We love our two nieces.

Congratulations Ryan, Cory, and Rachel!!

A Picture Tour

I've been asked by several people..."when are you going to post pictures of your new house?" So I decided I would give you a picture tour of our new home...which I'm still in love with by the way.

There are so many intricate parts to our house that the pictures won't do justice, but at least you'll get a glimpse of our cute country home.

First, I'll take you on a tour of the outside of our home...

This is our garden. We've been working on this a lot lately, and we have green beans, spinach, carrots, lettuce, peppers, onions, zucchini,  kale, tomatoes, squash, and pumpkins...

This is our garage...not really anything special here...just a regular two car garage...

This is our yard. There are so many flowers that I still have no idea what they are. It really is a lot of landscaping, and it's a work in progress, but eventually we'll get it to look how we want it to look, and with hopefully less maintenance. But right now...it's a lot of work.

Here's a side view of the yard from the East...
The porch off the master bedroom...
The patio/deck area off the sun-room...
A view of the yard from the West...
And a front view of the house...
Now I'll show you the inside...

First we'll go in through the front door where we haven't really done anything, but one of my favorite features of the entryway is the hooks on the wall. They line every wall of the entryway. You can't see them all, but they're darling, and I love them. I'm looking forward to doing something really cute with them in the future...

From there we'll go to the right and go to the office/sewing room. This is part of the original house that was built in 1888. The whole house still has the original hard wood floors from 1888, except for the new addition that was built in 1997 (which you'll see in a little bit)...

Now we'll go into the kitchen....

And then we'll go into Aaron and I's favorite room...the sun-room. We spend a lot of time out here, and we'll soon be remodeling it. It'll soon be red and yellow with comfy three season furniture. This picture will be used as a "before" picture later when we finish it....I'm really excited about what we have in store for this room...

And now we'll go into the living room...
View #1 of the living room...
View # 2 of the living room...

And this leads into the dining room with two more of my favorite things about this house...
the french doors...
 and the shutter windows...

From there I'll show you the guest bathroom...
View #1 of the guest bathroom...
View #2 of the guest bathroom...

And then upstairs are the guest bedrooms...
Guest bedroom #1
Guest Bedroom #2 (We lost the screws to this bed somewhere in the move, and we're still looking for them after 3 weeks. I think we'll need to go buy new ones.)
And a den area upstairs...We haven't done anything with this yet, but it'll eventually be a game room with the poker table set up and possibly a TV...

And then we'll go into the new addition...built in 1997, but as you can see they tried to match the hardwood floors and carried it out throughout the whole house...yet another one of my favorite things...

And this is our master bedroom which is a work in progress...nothing matches (I have blue curtains, gray walls, and black/yellow pillows on the bed). This will soon be redone with a gray and yellow theme, and I'm really excited about what's in store for this room...
This is the master bathroom...there's also a walk-in closet to the right, but if you've seen one walk-in, you've seen them all...

And last but not least...yet another one of my favorite things about this house...the laundry room...

So now you've seen it....this is our house. You may not love it as much as I do, but it suits Aaron and I perfectly. We feel so blessed. God is good, and He's provided for us in so many ways.

I found something in my dryer the other day....

Well...nothing's changed in the past week and a half since we've been in our new home...I'm still in love with it! We're completely unpacked...we have been for a while now, but I don't think anyone that knows us would be surprised by that...we're "pro" movers. We've moved six times in six years, and we're very organized people. I love organization, but that's another post for another day...

Now that we're all moved in, we're so excited to host when people come to visit. We both love having guests (whether it be family or friends), so we made sure to end our first week in our new home with friends coming over. Heath and Heather came to cookout with us and brought their adorable daughter Kaylynn with them, so we had a great evening hanging out with the Schiesher family. Kaylynn is 3 and ran around the house a million times until she found the laundry room. At that point, it was all about the laundry room. She loved the laundry room, and I couldn't blame her...I love my laundry room too. Heather and I watched her play in the laundry room for quite a while. For Heath and Heather's sake, I hope she continues to love the laundry room so that they don't have to do as much laundry when she gets older. That would be a great one for her chore list...

Our First House

There are a lot of things in life that I absolutely love, and our new house is one of them. I may even venture to say that I might choose our house over a million dollar mansion (if I were ever given the choice).

I love our shutter windows, our sun porch, our new bedroom, our new garden, our my laundry area, our original hardwood floors...I could ramble on for hours about everything I love about our new home. And I'm extremely excited that we have no future plans to move.

I'm not too excited about the noon whistle that goes off EVERY DAY at noon. I'm not even sure why anyone needs the reminder that it's 12 o'clock every day...just get a watch. It's 2011 not 1950. But anyway...that doesn't change the fact that I love, love, love our new house!!

We've only been in our house for a week now and that week has flown by. I can only imagine how fast life is going to go by as we enter into this new phase in our lives, but for now, I'm going to enjoy every moment of it...even the noon whistle.
