Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

The Bar Exam is over

The bar exam is over. Thank you everyone for your prayers and cards. The last two and 1/2 months have been exhausting and trying, but God has given us the strength to make it through. As for the results, I won't hear back until October 15th or so... it might be a close call as it was a tough exam.

The Bar Exam

The past three years have all been leading up to one big exam...the bar exam. Aaron has dedicated so much time and hard work into his education, and for the past two months, he has dedicated almost every waking hour of his day to studying for the bar exam. Aaron is an amazing man, and I can't even begin to say how proud I am of him. Tomorrow will be the start of the two day exam, and I'll be in constant prayer for him. He truly is the best husband a wife could ever ask for. I am truly blessed.

Rebecca St. James (a.k.a. Aaron's Childhood Crush)

My friend Cheryl and I volunteered last night at the Rebecca St. James concert. It was to raise funds for the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater, and it was a blast! We had so much fun working at Rebecca St.James' product table. We worked with Rebecca St. James' dad for a lot of the night, and to be honest...Dave (Rebecca's dad) was our favorite part of the night. After the concert, we got our picture taken with Rebecca and got her to autograph something for us. I told her how Aaron had a crush on her when he was younger, and so she signed the item "To Aaron...Glad you found the one for you." I thought it was fun to meet my husband's childhood crush, and Aaron got a kick out of it when I got home and gave him his autographed poster.

I Never Thought I'd Say This...

Aaron was doing some studying at the kitchen table last night while I worked in the kitchen washing dishes and getting our lunches packed for the next day. He stopped for a few minutes to have a conversation with me, and that's when I noticed it. Aaron leaned back on the back two legs of the kitchen chair and just casually continued the conversation. Little did he know that I was not casually strolling over to the table to dedicate more of my attention to him, but that I was walking over to where he was to say these words..."You know that chair has four legs, right?" It had happened. I had officially turned into my parents. When I was just a little girl doing the same exact thing and hearing those words come out of my parent's mouths, I would have never thought that one day I would say it to. I just couldn't help myself. I just couldn't stand the fact that I could possibly have to buy a new chair if that one broke. With that said, we had a small conversation going back and forth about the chair and whether or not it was good to have it leaning back on two legs. In the end, Aaron turned to me and pointed his finger and said "submit to me, woman!" I couldn't help but burst out laughing. I'm so thankful that it's a regular occurrence in our household to end up laughing hysterically about something so petty.

5 Years and Counting...

It's hard to believe we've been married 5 years now. In some ways it feels like forever and in other ways it feels like just yesterday. On our anniversary I was able to steal Aaron away from his studying for just one night, and we went to Sonoma Wine Bar & Bistro. It was a definitely a well deserved and needed break from bar exam studying for Aaron, and I definitely enjoyed spending some quality time with my husband.

The Definition of Boring

When I first mentioned starting a blog to Aaron , this is the response I received..."maybe we should blog about something else because we're kind of boring." The conversation ended with the conclusion that something can only be boring if you make it that way. But despite how "boring" we may be, we decided that it would be a great idea to start a blog so that we can document our journey together and also so that family and friends can keep up with our everyday lives since we live so far away. There's so many things we miss out on with our families because we live so far away, and we hope this will help everyone stay connected with what's going on in our lives, and maybe someday we'll be blogging about our children so that we can share it with them when they're older. (But don't get your hopes up just yet...there's not any plans for children just yet.)
